Remote design partner for USA teams
UI/UX design company for teams across the USA.
One studio in Surat, India, working remotely with founders and product teams from New York to the Bay Area. A 9am New York call lands in our evening, and a fresh file is on your board when your day starts.
Remote, not local
Straight about where we are.
IXdesign is a single studio in Surat, India. We do not have an office in the USA, a branch in New York, a team in San Francisco or anyone on the ground in California, and we will not pretend otherwise. When you are searching for a UI/UX design agency in the USA and land here, the useful question is not where we sit: it is whether the arrangement holds up across a gap of nine and a half to ten and a half hours, depending on the time of year, in both directions, for the length of a project. For the teams we work with it does. We are about eight people with roughly a decade of practice, and we work this way because it suits the kind of design we do: slow at the start, written throughout, and finished properly rather than rushed out.
The rhythm is simple and repeatable. You brief us in your morning, we design through your night, and the work is waiting when your team starts. A 9am New York call lands in our evening, so live sessions sit at the start of your day rather than in the middle of your afternoon. Everything else moves in writing: notes, decisions, screens, open questions and comments, kept in one place your team can read without booking a meeting. Written updates take longer to produce than a passing conversation, but they leave a record, and the record is what keeps a remote project honest. A short written update goes out every week whether or not there is a call, so anyone on your side can see where things stand without asking.
What the arrangement buys you is a design partner who is awake while your engineers sleep, and a review loop that never waits on a shared calendar. What it costs you is the ability to walk down the corridor and ask a question in passing. We are honest about both. Teams that need a designer in the room for every small decision are better served by hiring locally. Teams that can work from written briefs, clear screens and comments in a file tend to get further with us than they expected, and most of them come back for the next product. If the fit looks wrong, we would rather say so on the first call than bill for three months of something that was never going to work.
Where USA teams hire us
Four common briefs from the States.
SaaS product screens
Analytics, admin and reporting tools built around the numbers a user actually came to see, with empty, loading and error states drawn by hand rather than left to chance on the front end.
Website design and redesign
Marketing sites for B2B products, rebuilt so the offer is clear on the first screen, the proof sits close behind it, and the page loads before anyone’s patience runs out.
FinTech and dashboard work
Investment dashboards and trading interfaces, where figures have to line up on a strict grid and every pending, stale or failed state is designed before it reaches production.
A free UX audit
A 15-point review of a live product, with the findings written down, ranked by severity, and returned within one working day of you sending us the link.
How it runs
Working with a studio ten hours ahead.
Written brief, written reply
You describe the product in a few lines and send a link to whatever is live. We reply within one working day with the next step, from the same person who would run the project rather than a sales team.
Live calls in your morning
A 9am Eastern or Pacific call lands in our evening, so we can meet at the start of your working day without either side keeping unsociable hours as a habit. Afternoons we keep for design.
Decisions kept in one place
Notes, screens, open questions and the reason behind each choice live in a shared file, so nobody has to remember what was said on a call three weeks earlier, or ask twice.
Handoff engineers can use
Files organised by flow and state with the reasoning attached, so a developer in any timezone can pick the work up without waiting for a walkthrough meeting to be scheduled.
Context
What changes when the studio is in India.
USA product teams usually arrive for one of two reasons. Either they need senior design without adding a full-time head, or they have an in-house team that is already stretched and want the long tail of screens finished properly instead of being squeezed between launches. Both are work a remote studio can carry, provided the brief is clear and the feedback is written rather than remembered. The projects that go badly in any timezone are the ones where nobody wrote down what was agreed, and that failure has nothing to do with distance. We are not an app development shop: we design, and we work with your engineers on how the interface behaves inside their stack.
The USA market is also unforgiving about polish, and that shapes the work. Software is reviewed in public, compared in side-by-side lists and judged on the first screen before anyone reads a feature page. A dashboard that works but looks unfinished reads as an unfinished product, especially beside a competitor designed with the same care as its marketing site. We design for that comparison, because your buyer is making it whether you are or not, and the difference between two similar tools is often nothing more than the quality of the interface. That is usually where an audit pays for itself: the first screen, the empty states and the error paths, not the feature list.
We cannot claim to know your market better than you do, and we do not try. We know the patterns, the industry conventions and the states that break under real data, and we will say plainly when a request is likely to cause trouble six months later. The rest we learn from you in the first week and write down, so it stays learned instead of living in one person’s head. If another studio tells you they have a team in your city, ask where the work is actually done. The answer is more useful than the pitch. Send a link to anything that is live and you will get something concrete back within one working day, whether or not you hire us.
Questions
Things USA teams ask us first.
Do you have an office in the USA?
No. There is one IXdesign studio, at 617, Laxmi Enclave 2, Near Gajera School, Katargam, Surat, Gujarat, India. We work with USA teams remotely and have done for years. A page claiming a US office for a studio our size would be false, so we do not write one. You are welcome to visit if you are ever in Gujarat; message first so someone is free to sit with you.
Can you join calls in US working hours?
Yes, with one caveat. A 9am New York call is our evening, which we are glad to keep. Late US afternoons push into our night, so we prefer to hold live sessions at your start of day and handle everything else in writing. It keeps both sides sharp, and writing is faster than scheduling once everyone has the context.
How does the time difference work on a real project?
It works as a relay. You review in your morning, we design in your night, and changes are ready for your next day. The gap is nine and a half to ten and a half hours depending on daylight saving, so we agree a small fixed window for calls and leave the rest asynchronous. The relay only holds if both sides put decisions in writing, which is why we insist on it.
Do you sign NDAs and follow our contract format?
Yes. We sign your NDA before you share anything sensitive, and we are used to US-style statements of work and invoices. If your legal team has a template, send it early and we will work through it before the project starts rather than during it. Nothing about a small studio needs to be informal, and we would rather over-document than assume.
Which of your projects is closest to ours?
If you run a SaaS product, the audit-management-dashboard and the-disk-manager-webapp are the closest reads. For finance, the investment-dashboard-design. None of them were made for a USA client and we will not pretend otherwise, but the interface problems are the same ones. We will tell you honestly which is the closer match, including when the honest answer is that another studio suits you better.
