UI/UX design for Mumbai teams

UI/UX design for Mumbai products.

IXdesign is a UI/UX design studio in Surat, a few hours up the line from Mumbai. Our strongest work is exactly what Mumbai builds most of: money on a screen — investment dashboards, trading interfaces, and the audit and compliance tools behind them.

Be clear about this first

We are in Surat. We work with Mumbai.

IXdesign has no Mumbai office, no BKC meeting room and no local landline. There is one studio, at 617, Laxmi Enclave 2, Katargam, Surat, and everything in our portfolio was designed there. What Mumbai gets is a design team a few hours away by train — close enough that a kickoff or a stakeholder workshop in person is a normal day rather than a project expense.

The distance turns out to matter less than the overlap. Same time zone, same working week, same holidays. A question raised in a Mumbai morning stand-up is answered before that afternoon, and a design review does not have to be scheduled around anybody's night.

We are also not a fifty-person agency, and for some Mumbai briefs that is the wrong shape. If you need a floor of designers embedded for a year, say so early and we will tell you honestly that we are not it. If you need two or three senior people who will actually draw the screens themselves, that is exactly what you get.

What Mumbai teams hire us for

Four briefs we see most from Mumbai.

Money on a screen

Portfolios, orders, positions, statements. Dense numeric interfaces where a misread row is not a cosmetic problem.

Compliance and audit tools

Workflows with findings, owners, evidence and deadlines. Boring to describe, extremely expensive when the screen is wrong.

Consumer apps that must feel safe

Onboarding, KYC and payment flows where trust is designed rather than claimed. Fewer fields, clearer states, honest errors.

A site that produces qualified enquiries

For agencies, funds and B2B firms whose real sales channel is a referral checking whether you look credible.

How it runs

Close enough to show up, remote enough to be quick.

Kickoff in Mumbai when it helps

Wide stakeholder groups and regulated products usually need one room and one long day. We travel for that and quote it openly.

Everything else in Figma

One always-current file instead of a weekly deck. Your compliance and engineering leads comment in the same place.

Real-state design, not happy paths

Loading, partial data, market closed, rejected order, expired session. The states that decide whether people trust a financial screen.

Handoff that survives an audit

Documented components, states and rules, so what your developers build is what was reviewed and approved.

Context

In Mumbai the interface is the product's credibility.

Mumbai concentrates the parts of Indian business where a screen carries risk: broking, banking, insurance, asset management, payments, and the media and consumer brands sitting alongside them. In that setting a confusing interface is not just a conversion problem. It is a support ticket, a mis-sold product, a compliance finding, or a customer who quietly moves their money somewhere that felt more serious.

That is why we care so much about the states nobody demos. Anyone can design a portfolio screen with clean data. The design work is what happens when the feed is late, the order half-filled, the document rejected, the user two steps into KYC on a train with one bar of signal. Get those right and the product feels trustworthy; get them wrong and no amount of visual polish rescues it.

It is also why we do not lead with a proposal. A free 15-point UX audit on your live product gives you something a pitch cannot: a specific, ranked list of where users are dropping out, written by people who have designed trading and investment interfaces before. If you take that list to your in-house team instead of to us, the audit still did its job.

Questions

What Mumbai teams usually ask.

Do you have an office in Mumbai?

No. Our only office is in Katargam, Surat. We come to Mumbai for kickoffs, workshops and user testing when a project needs it, and that travel is stated in the quote.

Have you actually designed financial products?

Yes. An investment dashboard and a trading application are in the portfolio, alongside an audit management dashboard. You can look at all three before you talk to us.

Can you sign an NDA and work with restricted data?

An NDA is normal for us. We design against anonymised or dummy data by default and never need production records to do the work.

Who actually does the design work?

The same senior people you meet at kickoff. We are a small studio, so there is no handover to a junior team after the pitch.

How do we start without committing to a project?

Send a link to your live product and ask for the free 15-point UX audit. One working day, no cost, and a ranked list of what to fix first.
