UI/UX design for Pune teams

UI/UX design for Pune product teams.

IXdesign is a UI/UX design studio in Surat. We have no Pune office. What we do have is a decade of drawing the screens Pune builds most: product engineering tools, vehicle and mobility systems, and learning platforms.

Be clear about this first

We are in Surat. We design for Pune.

IXdesign has one office: 617, Laxmi Enclave 2, Katargam, Surat. There is no Pune branch and no co-working desk in Baner that we would call one. Every project in the portfolio was designed by the same small team in Surat, for clients in India and abroad.

For a Pune product team, the practical facts are these. We work Indian hours, so nothing waits overnight. We work in your Figma and your Slack rather than asking you to adopt a studio process. And when a project genuinely needs a room — a kickoff with a wide stakeholder group, a workshop, a round of testing with your own users — we travel and we put the travel in the quote instead of burying it.

We would rather lose a brief for being honest about the distance than win one and spend the first month managing an expectation we set ourselves.

What Pune teams hire us for

Four briefs that fit what we have actually built.

Product engineering, productised

Services teams turning an internal tool into something they can sell. The engineering is done; the first-run experience is not.

Vehicle and mobility systems

Registration, tracking, trips and alerts. We have designed both a GPS tracker app and a vehicle registration system.

Learning platforms

Students, tutors and parents needing different things from the same product. Four of our twelve projects are education products.

Operator screens used all day

Dense interfaces for trained users, where the design problem is speed and error cost rather than first impressions.

How it runs

A remote engagement without the remote excuses.

One shared file

Flows and wireframes before visual design, in a Figma file you hold from day one. The file is the status report.

Same hours, same week

IST throughout. Reviews happen inside your working day, not at the edges of somebody else's.

We test before you build

Five real users, moderated, on real devices. Cheaper to fix a flow in Figma than in a sprint.

Handoff, then availability

Documented components and states, a session with your engineers on the first screen, and answers afterwards rather than silence.

Context

Pune has the engineering. The queue is at the design end.

Pune is one of the few Indian cities where software, automotive and manufacturing sit next to each other, and where a very large share of the software written is product engineering done for somebody else. That produces teams who are excellent at building and, quite reasonably, have never had to decide what a product should be — because a client always decided for them.

The moment such a team builds something of its own, the missing skill shows up immediately. The architecture is sound, the feature list is long, and no stranger can work out what to do on the first screen. It is not a talent problem. It is that nobody in the room has spent years watching real users fail at real interfaces.

The other pattern is older products with genuine operator users — dispatch, fleet, plant, campus — where the interface was designed once, years ago, around the database rather than the job. Those are the most satisfying redesigns we do, because the people using them will tell you in ten minutes exactly what is wrong, and almost nobody has ever asked them.

Either way, the sensible first move is small. Send a link, take the free 15-point UX audit, and see whether an outside pass finds anything your team has stopped being able to see. If it does not, you have lost a day and gained a document. If it does, you will know what the next quarter of design work should be.

Questions

What Pune teams usually ask.

Do you have an office in Pune?

No. Our only office is in Katargam, Surat. We travel to Pune for kickoffs, workshops and user testing when the project justifies it, and the travel is stated in the quote.

Can you work as an extension of our existing product team?

Yes. That is most of our work. We adopt your design system if you have one, join your channel, and take the surfaces your in-house designers never reach.

Do you do research, or only visual design?

Both, and in that order. Flows and wireframes come before UI, and we test with real users before your developers build anything.

What if we only need a redesign of one flow?

That is a good size for us. Onboarding, checkout or a single dense screen is often where the entire measurable gain sits.

How do we start?

Send a live URL or a test account and ask for the free 15-point UX audit. One working day, no cost, and a ranked list of what to fix first with the fix for each point.
