GPS Tracker App Design

A mobile trip and mileage logger for people who drive for work: trips, hours, receipts and reports.

GPS Tracker App Design — Mobility mobile app designed by IXdesign.

About the project

What was designed.

The home screen is a six-tile grid and every tile leads with a number: hours logged this week, reports filed, miles tracked, receipts stored. A driver checking the app between jobs gets the state of their week without opening anything, and the same tile is the way in when they do.

Trips are the other half of the product. They filter by state (all, ongoing, ended, cancelled) and each trip is a card built as a two-point timeline: start time and address above, end time and address below, with the distance and a status chip on the header line. Ongoing, ended and cancelled each get their own colour, so a long list can be read down its right-hand edge alone. Adding a trip is a floating button that stays put while the list scrolls, because that is the one thing a driver does mid-shift.
